LED Outdoor Lighting - Enhance Your Exteriors with Stylish Colors
Outdoor LED lighting is an efficient way of producing lighting and color in your garden or yard. It can take the form of LED rope lighting, stand alone lights or small lights for paths and other areas.
LEDs are less expensive that many other types of lights because they consume less energy. Additionally, LEDs produce less heat, last longer, and come in a variety of different colors for potentially spectacular effects.
LED Technology
LED stands for light-emitting diode. A diode is a semiconductor. The LED is a tiny light bulb fitted into the electrical circuit. When the diode conducts electricity it produces light beams. LED technology is also used for the numbers on digital alarm clocks, some traffic lights, digital timers and similar items. Features of LED Outdoor Lighting
LED lights have a number of features that make them particularly well-suited for use in a garden or outdoor setting beginning with their superior energy efficiency as compared to traditional incandescent light bulbs. Additionally LEDs have a superior, long life and come in a variety of colors. The light bulbs are tiny, allowing them to be used in led light lighting ropes and small, hidden lights for paths or patios. The bulbs are resistant to vibration or shock so they are less likely to be damaged by yard crews or workmen and they can be easily combined to produce an interesting lighting display or LED lighting design.
Purposes of LED Outdoor Lighting
There are many different purposes for outdoor LED lighting in the garden or yard. Some ways that an LED lighting system or singular LED lights may be used include path lighting, feature lighting, to outline fences or patios, and to create visual effects with LED outdoor string lights.
Different Types of LED Outdoor Lights
LED lights are being used in a wide variety of outdoor and garden lighting products including lighting ropes, wall-mounted fixtures, ground lights, path lights, twinkle or party lights, underwater pool illumination, curtain lights, and feature or visual display lights.
LED Outdoor Lights Compared to Incandescent Bulbs
LED Outdoor lights have an efficiency advantage over incandescent light bulbs. LEDs don't need to produce as much energy to light up and are not as hot to the touch. They require less electricity than incandescent bulbs and are therefore more cost effective. LEDs have a longer life than incandescent bulbs and are smaller so they are more flexible and can be used in a wide variety of formats from conventional fixtures to lighting ropes.
